Traveling Through Genres
Ignite and nurture your child’s love of reading!
This elective takes students on a journey through nine literary genres where they explore genre characteristics, literary elements, and Godly character traits. This elective is designed to fulfill a post-phonics independent reading program or to guide a story time program using classic children’s literature.
Independent Readers-We suggest purchasing book packs from Heart of Dakota’s Drawn into the Heart of Reading. The packs are grouped by grade levels. If you want your child to have the maximum amount of support from Mrs. Collins, Traveling Through Genres in 36 Weeks teacher, then please select the story time books below. Older siblings may read the story time books below to younger siblings. Demonstration of comprehension will be different for older students than for younger students.
